Multi-Channel Plug-Ins

I'm not sure if it is possible, but I was trying to use some of the ambisonic (Surround Zone 2 from TSL or Sennheiser Ambeo VR) decoder plug-ins with Sony Vegas 14.0 and I couldn't figure out how to route four channels into a multi-channel plug-in. I tried creating a bus in stereo mode, and this only has two channels that a FX Plug-In can be applied to. I believe also in 5.1 surround mode, the bus or assignable FX only supports two channels. Importing a quad-channel WAV file results in Vegas splitting the file into four mono channels.

Is there any way to do this with Sony Vegas, or do I need to use a different program to use these plug-ins? Thanks for any help in advance.

The audio part of Vegas has not been modernized for a long time. Tracks and buses on the input part are only stereo and on the output are multi-channel (and only 5.1 in project 5.1). The use of third-party multi-channel effects is possible only on the master bus, and that is not always the case.

Surely you have created a multi-channel project?

Update:

...But I can't apply any of my 5.1 plugins (I have got a bunch from NuGen & Waves) to the Surround Master in 5.1 project as I can do to the Stereo Master in stereo project...

Vegas does not want to see any of my 5.1 plugins at all. It sees just "Dither", "Track EQ" & "Wave Hammer Surround". It shows none in "VST" category.

I find this to be weird and unnatural.

I was trying to do the same (using a 5.1 project and using the busses or the master bus) and I had the same issue, only being able to use a stereo bus or the FX missing from the list of plug-ins for the master bus. I guess this is a limitation of Sony Vegas for the time being? Thanks.
