Multicam Editing

I am having trouble editing the Muliticam track and hope someone can help!

I want to delete a section of the multicam track but when I highlight the section I want deleted it seems to delete more that the selection I have highlighted. When I highlight the part to delete there seems to be blue bars aroundmore than the bit I have selected.

Hope it makes sense!

Try "looping" the section you want to delete. Then "Highlight" the track, by right clicking on it, then select 'Delete' from the menu that came up, when you right clicked.
EDIT: make sure 'Ripple edit' is not on. Also, you can hit the 'S' key after looping and it will place a split on each side of the section you want to delete. Then you can right click on the track and select 'Cut'.

In Multicam track edits, the procedure is a little different:

1) Highlight the clip you want to change or delete.
2) Right-click on the clip to bring up the menu.
3) Click on "Take"
4) There, you have a number of options, including Delete Active Take, Choose Active Take, or just use the Button boxes to choose. Very simple once you've discovered this option, no need to do any timeline surgery unless you want to change the take length or move it.

5) If what you want to do is delete just a portion of a take, then delete or change the active take, then simply go back to Multicam Edit and put in two new takes at the points you want.

Many thanks musicvid - works a treat. I need to go through the options now.

I need to stop it moving the vid track along to fill up the space (and yes Auto Ripple is off!)

Really appreciate the help as I have been trying to fix it for ages!

Thanks TGS! I tried musicvid's first as it looked more straightforward - am now going to have a try at your suggestion.

Appreciate your help!

The one thing I can't verify for sure, is if it works with Vegas 8 Pro.
I have it, but have still not installed it yet. I'm still waiting for the next version (c), although approaching the 1 year mark of owning it.

TGS,
If you've never installed Vegas Pro 8, the feature the OP is referencing is Multicamera Editing Mode, which is not present in other versions. It is an entirely different feature and workflow than the standard timeline editing you are used to; in other words apples and oranges. jfyi
