multicamera viewing problems in Vegas pro 8.0

i'm a newbie to this forum so go easy on me! (some great posts, by the way...) Anyway, i just got Vegas pro 8.0 (upgrade from 7) mainly because of the multicamera feature touted in the release notes...i do dance performance videos with 2-3 cameras over 2-4 separate performances and edit into one single performance. i am working with anywhere from 6 to 12 video tracks and usually 1 or 2 audio tracks, so it would be VERY useful to be able to see 3 or 4 video tracks simultaneously as described. what happens in reality when i turn on multicamera in the tools menu is I get the top track in the timeline only on the preview screen with the colored "active track" border and the track number and name listed on the screen, but none of the inactive tracks. i feel like i am missing a switch or something but can't seem to find what i have missed. Help!

Thanks, after reading the whole topic , it is obvious that everybody want to be able to get back the original files and be able to use fx, volume envelopes and so on. Me too I had a sync delay due to a drop out on tape. How to change this ? I opened edit details and sorted the events by name ( the name in multicamera mode ) . Then I changed the number of track for all the events with the same name. This goes really fast. Now I can use fx for only this track and affecting only the events in the timeline on this track. Very useful if color balance of a camera is different from another . And I won't loose my fx nor other things. And the multicam is functioning as if I didn't change anything. The advantage of this method to me is that CPU usage for effects is only used after editing. But I admit , Sony has to help us out of this . Although vegas 8 is again better than 7 6 5 4 :) , the image even in best mode is still much worse than on an ordinary player and is consuming alot of CPU even with a excellent graphic card and 512 mb graphic ram.

Any reaction on my way of solving the problem ?
