Multiple cameras of concert

I have 5 simultaneous tracks of a concert. Currently it is being edited by cutting holes in the rest of the clips - but this has a drawback as you no longer can see what is in the material being cut away. And it is tedious too :-)

So: Is there a better way of doing this? For instance, marking a part of a clip on a track as "a solo clip"?

Hope you have some good advice here... thanks!

You definitely want to check out jetdv's (Edward Troxel) Excalibur as it was made for simplifying what you're trying to do.
Also, check out this article on how it was used on an edit of a 10 camera shoot recently.

Also, check out this thread from a few weeks ago. One way to edit is to put in little windows and copy/paste as you go along, as I try to explain towards the end of the thread. But there are lots of ways to do it.

A "Poor Man's" method would be to keep all 5 original clips on tracks 2..6 whole and only copy snippets from them on to video track 1. With this method you would then want to remove tracks 2..6 before rendering. But the excalibur solution works well.
