just been thinking about this from one of the active threads....

i've never had a problem with vegas capture splitting clips with sc. detect off. the only time i experienced it was with a clients tape, which appeared (at first glance) continuous, however, on capture i ended up with about 15 clips in a 30min capture.

no big deal, but i was curious as to why this tape and not mine.... answers to some questions i asked.

a. the tape had been used previously for laying a voice bed - recorded in one take with camera black. (i know, but some clients want their $2's worth out of every tape!)

b. yes, they had rewound on some takes to 'review' the take, and yes, he was sure there were no tc breaks.

turns out there was a 3 sec difference between the pre-recorded black tc and the new material. and every clip started on a scene right after a 'review'. on quite a few there was an actual black black frame with its original tc, and at other points, no black frame but the tc jumping to what would have been the original recordings tc....

don't know whether this has anything at all to do with capturing multiple clips, but that was my experience.....
