Multiple print sessions

What am I doing wrong?
I was able to print more than one copy before, but, now, if I save and reopen a dar project, when I select make DVD, burn, set the proper folders, I and then click next to reach the screen where you type in the volume name, the device is greyed out showing none, and my only options are to hit back or cancel.

What am I doing wrong?

I can preview my DVD if I hit preview and it plays ok.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Is there a disc in the drive?

There is a dvd-r disc in the drive. I confess, this is the first dvd-r that I've tried. The rest have been DVD-RW's. The new DVD-r came with my TDK 8x DVD/RW drive. Just took it out of the shrink wrap today. I suppose I could put another DVD-RW in there to see if that makes a difference - but, to answer your question, yes, there is a disc in the drive.

Thanks.

kameronj:

Thanks for steering me in the right direction. It seems my setup (whether it's the TDK disc drive or my system or my DVDA2 installation) doesn't like that TDK DVD-R disc that I tried to use (it is empty - I checked). I purchased a pack of DVD+R discs today, and they seem to work fine.

I'm not certain why this one disc gave me a problem - perhaps it is defective.

Anyhow, problem solved. BUT . . .

one more question: When I prepare, I usually select PCM audio and, of course, the default ntsc setting for the audio. When preparation is complete, I can navigate to the Audio-TS and Video-TS folders. There are always 10 or so files in the video-TS folders, never anything in the Audio-TS folder. Why is that?

That folder is for audio compilations.

To expand on what farss replied, the AUDIO_TS folder is always empty on a dvd for video playback. It's reserved for DVD-A (dvd audio, not to be mistaken for DVD-Architect). It (the empty folder) is generally included when disc's are compiled by an authoring app because of concerns for set top player compatibility. It's hard to know what is the truth or urban legend, but there are 'reports' that some older set top players 'look' for these two folders when one attempts to play a disc. If one of them are missing, it may result in failed playback. With that said, I know of Hollywood dvd's that have been released with only the VIDEO_TS folder. It doesn't take up any space, so why not include it (and eliminate possibly one other variable that can cause a disc to not play--as if there weren't enough).

Cool....glad everything worked out for you!

Thanks for the explanations on the two TS folders. As for the -r burning problem, it would appear that others have experienced the same or similar problem. If switching to +r media is the quick fix, I'm taking it - will keep an eye out for the solution to the -r problem in the meantime.

Thanks again.
