Platform: Movie Studio 16

Hello!

When I upload music to my project and insert it into the timeline, it does not play back as it normally would. Instead, there is a loud "shrieking" noise in place of the music. There are also no soundwaves in the box, just a thin white line where the soundwaves would usually be. I've tried resetting the program and clearing the cache, but that did not work. I've googled just about every which way, but can't find a solution to this problem specifically.

Can someone please help?

I haven't made any changes to the app what so ever. It was a simple close after my last project and an open to start a new one.
