By the looks of it, there is a need to purchase an extra package if using HitFilm Express, but as I remember it when I saw this tutorial a couple of years ago, the effect is fully achievable in HitFilm Pro.

Thank you so much, Dexcon, I highly appreciate your help. I also found a good solution with easy to use software called Magic ( https://magicmusicvisuals.com ) at low price ($44.95) and it will do the trick for me in this urgent project.

However, I will definitely consider HitFilm Pro as it seems much more powerful to create beat visualizers.

Well if you want it dirt cheap, use WinAmp and then just record the screen with Open Broadcast Service.

Sorry, I forgot you could also use the free HitFilm Express plus the cheap Audio Visual Pack as add-on (25 €).

Yes, you could playback any display and capture it with with Open Broadcast Service (OBS). Lots of music players and audio spectrum analysis apps and plug-ins have colorful real-time displays.

Thanks eikira and rraud .. but the problem with your method is that you can not record Alpha channel for background transparency! Please correct me if I am wrong!
