Must i re-encode ?

jvincent wrote on 3/25/2006, 7:49 AM
Hi,
I have a big MPEG2 file (45mn) i must just cut some blanks. I don't add any effects or transitions and i don't change output format (i keep original format).
Must i spend hours to re-render the file ?
And i suppose that each re-encodage recompress and quality is lower and lower ?
Thanks.
VINCENT

Yes, you must rerender (and take a quality hit) if you use Vegas. Alternately, you could use either Womble or VideoReDo to cut your MPEG files losslessly.
