Mute envelope doesn't *actually* mute nested children

I have a project with 16 tracks in a parent track, and each of those 16 tracks also have three nested tracks in them.

For performance reasons, I'm trying to mute the huge set of tracks when they are empty and not being used.

If I add a "mute" envelope to the parent track and turn it off via the envelope, visually I see the events on the children tracks disappear (it seems to work). But it doesn't. The children tracks themselves don't darken, and the performance still is horrible. If I press the "mute" button on that same parent track, everything works as expected and performance flies while it's muted.

This is a bug, yes? The "mute" (via envelopes) should essentially at as though the track's Mute button is being pressed off or on -- but it's not.
