Mute soundtrack button doesn't do anything

As it says above; to record my own voice on a new track it is necessary to mute my music track but no matter what combination of buttons between the two tracks, mute or solo, I can't make the music track to shut up. Where is the squirrel?

What device are you using and how are you recording your voice? (microphone input or other)

I'm able to mute the track .. or solo the voice recording track .. both work .. Using VP19 and Windows 10. Does this happen if you start a new project?

Thanks for this post. I didn't realize the advantage of doing narration while listening to the other tracks (music, sfx, etc) and also seeing the video as you record. I guess I remember doing this long long ago but I got away from it when I started using my H1 Zoom recorder.
