mxf viewer?

vlc works, but looks sort of washed out for some reason when comapred to viewing in vegas....

anyone suggest a viewer that'll play mxf instead of loading files into vegas?

Clipbrowser?
VLC should look no different, it could be your video card settings. I got caught out with that. The adjustments for Video don't affect Vegas but they do VLC.

Leslie, your post is a tad confusing. Are you saying your footage in VLC is washed out, or in the Sony XDCAM Viewer?

The Sony XDCAM Viewer works perfectly for me. Everything looks pristine.

according to my wife i'm a little more than a 'tad' confusing / confused.....

however jay, this time i admit to not being quite clear ;-) the vlc image is washed out, but i'm NOW in the process of downloading clipbroswer, so we'll see how it looks in that.....

ok, no go - downloaded but can't see my transcoded (from avchd) file. looks like i'll have to play with vlc - pics look good in vegas though, which i suppose is all that really matters.....

I know of this too... :-)

How about this one www.p2forge.com

Could be that it is only for P2 / Pana MXF's - not 100% sure.

I am downloading the trial now - will test it over all - looks quite good on 'paper'

Wives are so humbling... ;o)

Understand, there is a difference between Clip Browser and XDCAM Viewer--two different applications.

Also, open VLC > Tools > Preferences > Video > Output > (select "Windows GDI video output") > Save.

That should improve the video quality.

The Sony XDCAM viewer application is awesome. It defaults without any graphics card acceleration though. You need to go into the preferences and change it in order to see the full quality HD video.

played with vlc and yes, you're right, a little tweaking goes a long way.

looking forward to your results ulf.
