I'll tell you what my wife says when I make her preview one of my spots..."looks like a commercial to me" ...( I take that as a compliment considering my experience level) except I'll add that it's better than almost any spot I've ever done (one of mine I like better but it took me 3 days)
...okay how'd you do the CDs?
The 3D star-like cut out I'm guessing is just an overlay but where did you get the graphic? And the money underneath it all, is that something you made or bought. Did you use the Bezier masks for anything?

Excellent. There’s a lot going on there. I had to watch it a couple of times to soak it all in. Very nicely done.

Just a small question, are the voices overdubbed ?

I re-ask all g_randybrown's questions. It's very nicely done. Excellent job!

The cds: 1. Scanned the front of a CD case, 2. scanned inserts, 3, placed inserts 'in' cd, 4. use Autofx to 'wrap in plastic' using the Plastic filter in PS, scan one cd label side, Cut out with PS and add my KXY text (You did notice the station logo on the turn on the cds...didn;t you), 5. export each one as png (after Billy Boy's suggestion, this is the only still image format I use), 6. bring the 3 images (different fronts and 1 side) into vegas, duplicate side, 7. put them as a 3d space child, place/rotate the sides as necessary. 8, keyframe.

The 3d star is just a burst with a bevel (3 minutes max to design) brought in from photoshop.

I got the money from Superstock on the Internet. Paid for the low res version. Pan/cropped it and keyframed it to create movement (no smoothness)

Bezier masks-shucks, I'm not that slick yet!

Yep, you got me. The initial recording was done with the Camera mic on my VX2100. It sounded good in the headphones when I taped it. I was taught never to use the camera mic, and I brought a shotgun to the shoot as well. They both sounded equally well (so I thought). UNTIL I GOT IN FRONT OF VEGAS. It was hollow sounding. I had to tuck my tail between my legs and ask the talents to do it again into my shotgun. I had some syncing probbies though. All this to say that I am now reading "Producing GEAT SOUND for Digital Video by Jay Rose". Thanks for letting me share here with the greatest video editing software users' group.

Yeah, Clear Channel (Owner of the radio station that hired me) told me that it was going to flood the airwaves. I think that it was played over 100 times over the local ABC, NBC, NBS, FOX, and Cox. I wanted it to be 'saturated' so that people would be interested again when they saw it to see what they missed: lot of information/way too fast. Maybe that is the crack pipe talking, but sounds good. Anyone know of a good book on making commercials?
