My FX won't stick!

I'm running Vegas Audio 2.0a Build 323 and I'm running into
problems. When I add a custom multi-tap directly to a track
it won't stay. I can play it once fine, but after that the
effect defaults to Reverb.

I've got about 26 tracks, not too many effects.

My PC is an 850 mhz Athlon with 256 megs of RAM.

Any suggestions?

I have trouble with fx settings changing by themselves, as soon as I
close the window in track fx, the parameters change back to default
