My New Premiere-Inspired UI for Vegas & How I Fixed the Lip-Sync Bug

I have customized my final UI. Although it isn't the default Vegas setting, I made this because the Vegas timeline is fixed and cannot be docked. I wanted to ask, is there anybody else following this method too? I got this idea and inspiration from Premiere Pro, as I use it as well. However, I also had to fix the 'sync' issue in version 22 by activating the legacy AVC codec in the 'I/O' settings and renaming my mobile footage from '.mp4' to '.dif'.

I accept everyone’s user interface preferences without question.

@RobinVeg87 you are going to love the new UI docking options in Vegas Pro 23.

I checked the new feature list in Vegas, and I think they’re making a smart move now. However, as someone from South Asia, I want to point out a major market they’re missing: they still don’t support Unicode in text and subtitle editing. That’s why Vegas’ customer base remains largely in the UK, USA, and Australia.

Personally, I don’t have a big issue with this—when I need to work with Bangla, I simply switch to Adobe Premiere Pro. Adobe has built a massive customer base in South Asia mainly because they addressed this exact “font” issue.

This is the age of the ‘Text Game,’ yet they’re still stuck on the waiting list for this important feature. I feel that by the time text support becomes normalized, they’ll suddenly announce, ‘Oh, we’ve finally added Unicode support for subtitles and text editing. At the same time, I’m not convinced that their current pan-and-crop system — this awkward setup instead of a straightforward corner-based pan-and-crop — will be strong enough to cope with today’s market challenges.
