I create 5.1 mixes using audio from these sources:
Mono, Stereo, and six channel Surround. (and still photos of course).
The project settings are 5.1.
Creating the final 5.1 dvd is no problem with DVDA but my stereo cd's using CDA do not sound the same even though I store the CDA mix as a stereo .wav file created in Vegas9 using the "Downmix Output" button in the Mixer.
This does not keep the levels correct of sources that are panned towards the centre or rear of the surround space in the project. These sources end up about 6 or more db lower than in the 5.1 dvd sound.
How do I configure Vegas to keep my projects in 5.1 and yet have (hopefully) a "one click" solution to produce a correct mix down to stereo when the 5.1 mix is finished?
Can it be done with busses?
