Mysterious Orange Markers

Some mysterious markers have started popping up in one of my projects (Vegas Pro v.15, build 361). I have been with Vegas Pro since way back in the 20th Century, but have never seen these:

I am talking about the two orange markers and the word Track 1 after the first one of them. I can get rid of them by right clicking on the left one and selecting Delete All. But this is not the first time they appeared there, at the exact same spot in the exact same project, and I am puzzled what they are and how/why they appeared there (presumably I pressed some key on my keyboard, but which one?).

Anyone know what they are and why they pop up there (and only there)?

You probably struck the "N" key.

Thanks! I remember I had it once too, must have stroked N by accident as well!
