Mystery "Customize" window on top-left UnMovable?!

RedRob-CandlelightProdctns wrote on 1/13/2020, 7:19 PM

On my laptop, whenever I launch Vegas 17, a mysterious additional window is also opened which sits in front of the main Vegas window. This is REALLY annoying because it covers the top-left menus when maximized, and I can't move or close this mystery window!

The only thing I can do is right-click in the center of it and choose "Customize". The window which opens is titled "Customize" and it has two tabs: (1) Toolbars (2) Commands. Under the Commands tab it has two lists/sections: "Categories" (containing "Markers") and "Commands" (containing Markers, Regions, Command Markers [scope] and Apply).

Anyone have a clue what this is and how to keep it from locking itself up there? I'm thinking Vegasaur or Excaliber but I honestly can't figure it out from noodling around.

Thanks for any help!

@RedRob-CandlelightProdctns - Post a ScreenGrab?

OK. Here are three grabs.

First one shows the tiny window on the top-left, which only opens when Vegas 17 is open. This window stays on top of all other windows, Vegas or otherwise.

Right-clicking on the body of the box brings up a "Customize" option. Selecting that brings up this window, which also is on TOP of all other windows even if they are selected.

@RedRob-CandlelightProdctns - Thanks. Try Factory Reset? Try a Standard VP Layout? Update your .NET Framework? Failing all those, try a reinstall of VP17. If that doesn’t do it, re-download a clean VP17. Oh yeah, do a PC Reboot after each.

I think this is from Vegasaur. So I'd try closing all windows which belong to Vegasaur.

It may be from Excalibur, as that has a Custom Command window.

It is definitely NOT a part of Excalibur. It does appear you have some other scripts/custom commands installed. What other ones do you have installed?

Once you get it to where it says Toolbars or Commands, can you click on the "X" to the right of "Customize"?

Vegasaur …

As mentioned above in my last post it belongs to Vegasaur – it's part of the Markers tool and it will vanish once you close the Marker tool window (which I see in your screenshot).
