Mystery "Split frame" problem

I apologize in advance; this is undoubtedly a newby problem.
I'm trying to create an intro to a project that uses a still photo image for background and a title overlayed onto it. The title is an .AVI file created from WILDFXPro (which I just licensed yesterday, and it's very nice). IThe title has a green background, and I'm trying to use the Sony chroma keyer video effect to mask the green, allowing the text to show through. This seems to work, except when I view the composite preview, the screen is split right down the middle vertically. The right side seems to have the correct composite effect, but the left side shows the background image washed out by the green layer, and no text.
Is therre some sort or interlacing problem when mixing text, video and compositing?

Thanks,

You might check to make sure the split screen button on the preview window didn't get activated by accident.

It's likely that you have merely activated the preview windows feature that shows you the before/after of the FX. There is a button on the preview window that you can click to disable/enable this feature. Not by my editing system so I cannot tell you which button it is... but hopefully this will get you looking for the righ thing.

Right you are! Thanks; I never even knew the button was there!
