N00b help

Made a DVD using DVDA 4.5. One of the videos was a slide show created with PhotoShop Elements 7. First copy burned without incident. Attempted another one later and that button had a red "Failed Render" over it. I deleted it, re "Output" the identical file through PSE and now it says "improper media" when I try to insert it.

Is it just me, or is this software awfully "prickly"? When it did the successful burn, it notified me that some of my files would be "adjusted"(but that wasn't the word it used). Does it "adjust" the original files? That seems rather dangerous, eh?

I think we're going to need more info.

1. What kind of file are you getting out of Photoshop Elements?

2. You say you burned one copy of the DVD fine, but got something about "Failed Render" when you tried to burn a second copy? Thing is, once you've prepared and burned a project, DVD Architect doesn't need to render anything for subsequent burns. You just choose the option to burn a previous project, and DVD Architect makes a disc with the files it already prepared. Also, I've never seen a "Failed Render" message in DVD Architect before. If you get it again, could you post a screen cap so we can put it into context?

3. Never seen an "improper Media" message either, but depending on what you're getting out of Photoshop Elements, it just might be.

4. As for the "adjusted" message, whatever it actually said, you have to understand that there are rules for building a DVD that DVD Architect has to follow. If the media you added doesn't conform to those rules, then DVD Architect has to "adjust" it (guessing that the message you saw actually said "render" or "re-render"). It's not dangerous, it's putting the media into the proper format. The best way to avoid it is to have your media in the proper format in the first place. And, though I can't be sure, my guess would be that Photoshop Elements doesn't do that.

Thanks for reply. I'm at work and I guess I'll have to tinker with it this weekend and re-post more specifically...sorry about the exact message verbage, kinda new to me.

But the curious thing is that it DID render and burn the one time. The hard drive copy of the project (VIDEO/AUDIO) are in the directory as expected, but when I asked it to burn again, the program went into "...not responding" freeze-up.

The PSE slideshow is a *.wmv file.

I tried to make the slide show with VMS v 8 and had trouble...read on this forum that it is not designed for making slide displays and fell back to PSE which is rather easy and intuitive in this regard.
