I agree 100% with Steve. I too am still on Vegas 10e and don't plan on installing 11 until the bug/stability situation vastly improves (though I have spend money on the upgrade). I also will never put any Newblue code on my machine, as they have consistently proven themselves to produce unreliable software. Fortunately, I have Boris Red 5 to use as my "Titler Pro".

"Fortunately, I have Boris Red 5"

is that rock solid? i used it a few years ago and dont think it crashed vegas but it was painfully slow and a bit clunky on the timeline

I would say it is pretty close to rock solid. The only time I have had it hang or crash (a relatively rare event) is when I use it as a Vegas plugin, which may actually be caused by Vegas itself. When I run it standalone, it works great. It has definitely gotten faster compared to release 4.x and having a 64 bit version gives a speed increase as well.

The thing that I really like is that the company is very responsive to its customers. The owner himself often answers emails and posts on their forum. A couple of months ago, a user reported an interlace issue when using it with Vegas and a new release was made in a week and a half just to fix that problem. THAT really impressed me.

Lastly, I find the tool to be very useful and broad in its capabilities, such that I have replaced all my other video plugins with it. Anyway, I'm a happy camper.

Wouldn't it be nice if all companies were as helpful and responsive to their customers problems and needs?

Borisfx totally surprise me and have come full circle after many years in the field.
I recall in the past, how i hated everything Borisfx put out, because they
didnt integrate well with Vegas, they were clunky, unstable, resource hogging etc.
And spoke ill of their integration constantly, BUT now i have both Boris Red 5 and
Continuum Complete 7/8 and they are rock solid and fun to use, they are flawless.
I cant believe how well they have become and also responsive to ALL our needs
and requests promptly....Borisfx finally got it right....If only other software companies
had this determination to make things right with their products and their user base.

Sadly, NewblueFX is going into the opposite direction of what i pointed out above.

Steve, Titler Pro relies heavily on the video card. Yes, some people are having some issues with it and NewBlue is working with them trying to iron out the bugs for their specific situations. However, the vast majority are happily using it to create titles.

As for ThemeBuilder - it is a totally different situation. It is a Custom Command that runs in Vegas and in no way relies on the video card. Two entirely different products made two entirely different ways relying on entirely different technology.

But it's not just about Titler Pro that have people complaining about NewBlue FX. All of the plugins (even the new 3.0 versions) are very unstable within Vegas. (I still can't get ANY of my NewBlue plugins to work) There's also the matter of the very confusing lack of organization and labeling of version numbers on the website.

Granted, NewBlue has been mostly responsive to customers complaints and some of these problems might be out of their control, but the point is the general dissatisfaction about NewBlue is not exclusively about Titler Pro, so when people have their reservations about ThemeBuilder, those concerns are based on a broader, overall concern of NewBlue's recent track record.

I was once an extremely loyal customer of NewBlueFx, using their plugins exclusively within Vegas, and constantly singing the praises of their plugins, especially the ease of which the Chroma Key plugin worked. But unfortunately, I cannot use them anymore and have given all my business over to BorisFX. I've uninstalled all of NewBlue's plugins from Vegas and have written off the hundreds of dollars I've spent on everything I've purchased from them.

I do want to give credit to -jetdv- He is speaking entirely knowledge wise and correct that a New Blue company development in "Theme Builder" is a completely different ball game.

What is missing but hinted at in this thread - is that the business relationship between NewBlue and Sony has underwent a horrific loss of branding this year. This is just exactly what brings a good company down in the marketplace. I am not aware of what NewBlue is doing in it's other market sectors - but it had at one time a strong identity link with Sony. This is not all NewBlue's fault..Sony has really went down the tubes with development and release of VegasPro11.

Since I use New Blue successfully with VegasPro8 and 9 and want to continue to do so...I would encourage them to release a version of "Theme Builder" compatible with those platforms. That keeps all balls bouncing in the VegasPro market.

Titler Pro relies heavily on the video card.
Why o Why does everyone think they need to tie into the Video Card?

Before all the GPU hubbub software ran solidly without tying into the Video Card. I simply find it appalling that NewBlue Titler Pro is not dependable because of this. Boris, Zaxwerks, After Effects, etc all of which have more power than Titler Pro are solid.

If NewBlue Titler Pro has a problem with tying into video cards... stop making excuses and untie it!
