Naming Rendered Files

I've just decided to try Vegas for creating FLAC files from CDs. So far, I've extracted all tracks as .WAV filesinto a temp folder. Vegas named those files by doing a gracenote lookup.

Now I want to render each file to a FLAC but Vegas seemingly wants to entitle them "untitled.flac". It seems that there should be a way to render as FLAC with the proper artist and title.

Can anyone offer a suggestion?

The file name and the metadata info, (Artist, Title, ect, ect, ect.) are different entities. "Untitled" is the default new file name.
I don't know if Flac files have the same metadata architecture as .mp3 and cda file types.

Regardless of metadata, if I have a file named Over The Rainbow.wav and I import it into Vegas, it would be nice to have the option to render it as Over The Rainbow.flac, or .mp3, etc.

The "untitled" naming reflects the Vegas Project name. It is not intended to name a project based upon one piece of media.

Vegas is not a file editor.

If you want a file centric editor, Vegas is the wrong tool. Use Sound Forge.

You could probably write a script to do what you want.
