I know some of you here on the Vegas forum use ACID (in the privacy of your own home of course ;-) ) so I thought you would be interested to know that the new VASST Instant ACID book has been release by CMP Books and is on its way to distributors. CMP was selling copies at the NAMM show this weekend so some people already have their copy.

Geez JR, you beat me to the punch.
We're glad that you were able to round out our "Instant" series for Sony software with the new book from you and Iacobus. It generated a lot of interest and enthusiasm at NAMM 05, that's for sure. I've got copies here at Sundance as well.
For those looking for a great way to learn ACID quickly from the perspective of both a musician and a person wanting to score video with ACID, this is a great book. It's one of our thickest Instant books yet.
As always, we're interested in hearing from y'all what you want to see from VASST in books. We've got 3 more in the pipeline now, watch for some NAB announcements.

"We've got 3 more in the pipeline now..."

Instant Sound Forge 8.0, no doubt.

Nope. The Sound Forge book might be updated at some point in time, but it's not version-specific, so it's no big thing to update. The Instant Series are more task-oriented than tool-specific oriented. That's what makes JR's book so great, is that much of it can be applied to other versions of ACID too, just as the Vegas book can be applied to Vegas Movie Studio (for the most part) The Surround Sound book is pretty generic, and our Instant Audio Production book is also fairly generic.
The next instant book to launch is the Instant Studio book that is directed towards the 3 Sony Studio series applications, with a heavy lean towards Vegas Movie Studio. Next is the Instant Audio Production, and I can't comment on the third until CMP Books announces it.

"The Instant Series are more task-oriented than tool-specific oriented."

I didn't know that.
Time to check those out.
Sounds great for hobbyists like moi. Manuals are OK, but task-oriented is sooo much better.

Thanks for the clarification Spot.
