ok guys. Please give me some tips on this. I don't remember how I did the last update v4.2. I am thinking just download the demo 4.5 and install over the previous version. Neat Video will automatically detect you have a license for the the previous version and it will install as a update. Is this correct?
BruceUSA, it depends on which version and some can co-exist on the same machine.
For example, I had both the 3.x and 4.x Home versions installed under Windows 7. I could use either of them.
With this upgrade offer I was able to upgrade to the 4.5 Pro for only about $24.00 so I went for it. I installed the new 4.5 Pro version, however I was not able to see it in either Vegas 12 or Vegas 14.
I went ahead and uninstalled both of the Home versions and once I did that I was able to access 4.5 Pro from within Vegas 14 (when adding as an effect to a clip). Then I was prompted to enter my registration information and when that was completed the new Pro version Neat Video was ready for use.
Albert S. I am all good now. At first I went on and download the trial version and its messed up my previous version of neatvideo. I should not download the trial version for Neatvideo update. Instead I went on login to my Neatvideo account and there a update version is available foe me to download. I am all good now.
Guys, could you please use NV in an Event, go to HELP and click on ABOUT. What version are you showing? I'm showing Version 3x ! Surely that should be 4.5 now? Yes, I did the download from my account, and yes it said it was installing NV 4.5.
The folder 'Neat Video' in the Plug-in chooser window is now empty.
In the window 'Third Party' there is a 'Neat Video' plug in - showing Neat Video: DXT when you click the button. Adding this plug-in to a clip I get the version 3.4.0 (64 bit using 6 cores)
Adding the 'Reduce Noise v4' plug in gives me the 'Neat Video 4.5.0 plug-in (64 bit; using 9 CPU cores)
OK, running my trusty ole nVidia GTX560ti, the Driver for it is offering up CUDA Driver 6.0 . What I need to make use of the CUDA in NV is at least CUDA Driver 6.5.
But, and here's the thing: The LATEST nVidia Driver that WILL offer CUDA 8.0 but then not allow GPU assist/acceleration in VP 13 nor MAGIX14, if I have the GPU selected. Preview screens are BLACK ?!
OK, who has got proof of the nVidia Driver that gives both GPU Acceleration - Preview Screens working - AND more that CUDA 6 - according to NV CUDA 6.5 will do. These reports you can see in the new NV Performance Tab. If you do, then please share the nVidia Driver number.
To recap: I can EITHER get GPU Acceleration that is previews OR GPU Acceleration/Assist in NV 4.5 , I can;t have both. TO do that I need to have a working nVidia Driver that installs CUDA 6.5 or higher.

Here's the reveal!

BruceUSA, I am not Grazie, but when you click to respond, there is an Icon with an upload symbol. You can upload images with that.

Yeah, 375.70 ( I'll recheck tomorrow) does give me CUDA 8, but then engaging GPU acceleration in VP13 or MX14 then any Preview Screen goes Black. Can you get Preview AND Preferences GPU Acceleration engaged?
Everything is engaged on my side, excluding the only one thing. Namely the "GPU rendering". I work with this config. Everything seems fine.
VP14 and VP11. Both.
...Actually I have got only one "problem"/"inconvenience" with Vegas and Vegasaur. Vegasaur's dll invokes "Crash report" upon exit from the application. Always. For ages. I give almost no damn, most of the time.
I can just suggest, from my point of view, to perform clean uninstall/reinstall of video drivers & to check the .NetFramework relevance. After uninstall - boot up in Safe Mode and check "Device Manager" (or how is that called in your UI) for the absence of extra / forgotten video card drivers; then install the 375.70 version.
Or... I have a trick... When I wish to have "kind-of-clean install" of new drivers & don't feel like playing masochist I install nVidia driver version 270.61 WHQL. It performs perfect uninstall of "future" drivers. As far as I tested. And then any update installs brilliantly on top of it.
