Neat Video Update 5.5.10

Dexcon wrote on 7/4/2023, 3:16 AM

I've just noticed that there is a Neat Video update (5.5.10) that was released on 1 June 23, but I can't find any release notes about it.

If you open Neat on an event in Vegas Pro, there'll be an 'Update' menu item in Neat's top menu line (Effect, View, Profile, etc) that provides a link to the update. The Update menu item will disappear once the update has occurred. N.B. Vegas Pro needs to be closed in order the update to install.

@Dexcon - Maybe of value, or just too much "noise", I found this on the NV site itself going to 5.5.09, not 5.5.10: https://www.neatvideo.com/features/version-history/nv5pr

Huh! Here is the 10 update page:

And clicking on the History of changes gets me to the page which stops at 5.5.09 .

@Grazie  ... try updating to 5.5.10 from the Update menu item in the Neat program itself.

In 5.5.5, the previous version I had installed, the Update button which downloaded 5.5.10 was in the menu line where the red arrow is pointing. After 5.5.10 installed, the update button took its leave from the menu line.

Assuming the thsi wasn't introduced with 5.5.8 or 5.5.9, the most obvious new feature in 5.5.10 is that there is now a progress bar at the top of the Neat image following every change to its controls - but that progress abr is very quick.

Oh, and use the installer that results from the update download. I tried the existed the existing installer that I already had and, even though it had the same name as the new installer, it didn't find 5.5.10.

That progress bar is fast, but I'm sure it will depend on the amount of math being employed by my application of multiple corrections. Meaning, more corrective functions more time, and that progress bar will reassure me that NV is still hard at work.

Overall, it is good to see this company still employing people to enhance their product.

@Grazie  ... I've spent the day processing in Neat NR 5.5.10 dozens upon dozens of 4K MP4 videos, most of which were about 5 seconds in length. Neat NR processing of each control change was quick, the progress bar speed being around 1 to 2 seconds to complete. Overall, I found the progress bar a really good and useful new feature.
