need a good replacement for done ADVC300

Had the Canopus ADVC300 for 10yrs and now is has an major issue. I need to replace it soon. I still have been using it, because I still have a ton of Video tapes that still need to convert and I use it for other relative related videos that I make for them.
Yes, I still use XP w/ Veg10. (Still works good)
I need some recommendations, and I'm not spending a ton of $ for it (not like the $450 org on the 300). I currently use Firewire to go to the computer, but can use either USB3.0 or 2.0 that's also available on the computer.

I believe my Sony DCR-TRV22 camcorder was able to act as a analog to digital converter. Maybe you can find a low priced similar camera.

I agree that you're probably going to have to go with an old DV camera because you'd be hard pressed to find modern hardware that still supports Windows XP.

You might want to consider the Grass Valley ADVC55 for $159 USD. It's a one way only capture device (no print to tape) but it works directly with Vegas Pro so there's no software to worry about. It doesn't have a Time Base Corrector (TBC) like the ADVC300 but those cost an additional $150 stand alone so your back up to what the ADVC300 cost if you need TBC.

Thanks, I was still possibly looking at either the 55 or the 110 version as a replacement. I didn't use the two way function of the 300. I liked the other features it had for I used it for.

Canon ZR camcorders are $15-25 at your local Goodwill, but they are getting scarce.
Tape transport doesn't have to work.
