Need advice on analog-to-digital converters (ADVC-100)

I'm fairly new to this and all of my editing projects have so far been shot in digital. They came out great.

But recently I was given an editing job that incorporates lots of VCR footage from old analog camcorders. I'm shopping around for a good converter. I have my eyes on the ADVC-100 by NEC at the Canopus website:

Does anyone have knowledge and/or experience with analog-to-digital to tell me if this is the right choice? I hear it's better than Dazzle Hollywood Bridge.

Thanks in advance.

Don't even look at the Dazzle. You won't be happy with it.
Most people are more than very pleased with the ADVC-100.

I've got the Canopus ADVC-100 and I'm very happy with it.

You might see if your camcorder has analog to digital passthrough capabilities allowing you to input analog video and audio and output firewire to the pc. Would be a cheaper way to go if you have the right camcorder since you wouldnt have to buy anything else.
