Need an option for developers

OK, team. I am working on an OFX plugin and testing it on Vegas. Naturally, while developing it, I tend to crash Vegas. And it is so frustrating that upon restart after a crash Vegas does not load the last project automatically, especially when run from inside a debugger. I waste so much time telling Vegas to load the project, and lose my train of debugging thoughts in the process.

I understand, well sort of, that Vegas does not load the last project after a crash by default, but come on, folks, can you not give us an option to load the last project automatically even after a crash? Because quite frankly, I am starting to wonder why I even bother writing a plugin for a host that throws stumbling blocks in the way of those of us who do develop such plugins.

I know very little about modern coding, but I imagine it can be frustrating! Do you use a programming language like C or something else?

BTW, what is your plug-in intended to do? Just curious.

I use mostly assembly language for the math and such, with C for the OFX wrapper.

I introduced some of my plugins in this thread. The one I am working on deals with color manipulations. It is much bigger and much more complex than the ones mentioned in that thread (and quite different), but I will talk about it in that thread when I am ready to publish it (assuming the thread does not get closed by then, something that would make me quite unhappy).

One of the first things I did with it, I took a deliberately low-light photo of my bookcase with the Datacolor SpyderCHECKR Color Chart on one of the shelves. Most of the colors looked black to my eyes, but I was happy to see I could restore them with my plugin and along with them most of the things on my bookshelf. Of course, it did not look like a properly exposed picture, but I made them all clearly visible, while before they all seemed just black and very dark gray. And that was several months ago. I have been working on it ever since.

I am working on it at all available time because I had a heart attack two and a half years ago, and I’d like to release it while I’m still physically capable.
