Need for a specialized script

I am in need of a script that does the following:

1. Renders the entire timeline audio to .WAV
2. Renders the entire timeline from a saved profile to *.*.AVI (my 3ivx first pass)
3. Renders the entire timeline from a saved profile to *.*.AVI (my 3ivx 2nd pass)

Number 2 should be overwritten by the output of number 3.

If this script doesnt exist, I would glady pay for this as I am sure others that use Divx, Xvid, and 3ivx would find this just as useful. Finally we can get two pass encoding for Mpeg-4 in VV4.

Any thoughts?

Just curious, but what good does #2 do if it's overwritten by #3?

I haven't tried two pass encoding, but shouldn't any of the batch scripts work?

Check out www.ayizwe.net/VegasScripts, www.sundancemediagroup.com, as well as my site, http://www.rmtools.se.

#2 saves metadata in another file that's later used by #3 to give better image quality.

1st pass is the analyzing phase. 2nd pass is the actual encoded file.

I tried looking at those other tools and they just dont seem to offer the work flow that a script like I mentioned would.

The script I envision makes it as simple as loading videos on the timeline, running the script and presto.

If anyone would like to write a script for this and the price is reasonable, I will gladly fund the development of it.

Saving multiple renders as presets is the reason I wrote Batchrender Pro.

Here's how you would do it:

First set up templates in Vegas for your two passes. Load your project and start Batchrender Pro. Go to Options and deselect Add template to autofilename. Hit Add, check Currently open project. Set Fileformat to Wave and choose a template. Click OK. Then do the same for the two .avi-passes.

Now, because you have selected Currently open project for the renders in this batch, you can save the batch and use it as a preset for any project you have open in Vegas. You can tell Batchrender Pro to open the last batch on startup, so all you would have to do is open your project, run the script and hit Render.

Just make sure you verify that it works manually first, so that there are no other quirks using two pass in Vegas with your codec.

Roger, great script. However, I was looking more for something that doesnt have to use a saved .VEG file and also something that I can insert on the toolbar and just hit the button and have it be done.

There was a script floating around here once that would convert a timeline into multiple (i.e. 2 minute increments) and that thing saved me a ton of time by having it sit on the tool bar and not having to even select a directory or veg. Just click and go.

Im probably going to buy your script as I would have other uses for it but right now, I have over 16GB of Mpeg-1 that a client wants converted to 3ivx and the process is taking forever.

You don't have to open a .veg inside Batchrender Pro. Just have your project opened in Vegas.

You can put any script on the toolbar: Options -> Customize Toolbar. There you can add any script that you have permanently set on the Tools -> Scripting menu.

Roger, followed your instructions and gave it go but the demo wont let me render. So I have no way of knowing if it suits my needs.

Is there a version that allows a test render or limited number of renders in demo mode or something?

Nevermind. I went ahead and paid for it and followed up with an email to you with regards to where to send serial number. Thanks. Very nice script.
