Need help freezing a frame of video

Hey gang,

I have a 15 second 3d animation that only has true motion for about the first 5 seconds. The rest is "static" position of the elements.

I need to make the clip last 66 seconds though.

I've tried making a subclip and running it at slower speeds but when encoded and previewed in DVDA you can notice the frame rate jitter.

I've tried taking a snapshot of the frame to stretch out but for some reason the aspect ratio doesn't match.

I'm just trying to avoid putting 10 or so mini clips of AVI back to back to make one long static image. It's not hard, but it chews up space and makes for a longer encode.

Thanks (as always) in advance

Jim

Jim,
Insert a velocity envelope on the clip. At the point the frame is still, insert two points (double click on the green line to add a point). Right click on the second one and then set it's value to '0' (still). Now you can just take the right edge of the event and drag it for as long as you want.

HTH,
Tom

Ditto to Tom's advice.

Nice!

I haven't had a need to even use that envelope yet. I'm normally limited to stills for these projects; however I'll get a chance with more of the animation I'm doing.

Oh, much faster encoding time without those subclips. (i must be blind).

Thanks again,

Jim
