NEED HELP NOW!--INTERNAL MONITOR OUT

tailgait wrote on 6/3/2004, 9:58 AM
I can't get my internal--or my external--monitor to work. It just quit. No picture. No reason that I can think of. I'm in the middle of a project due today, so if anyone can give me a clue as to what to do, I'd appreciate it. Searched the database and could not find anything. Already tried re-booting and re-introducing the software. TIA

I can really use some help. I can't get an image on my internal monitor at any quality and, of course, nothing outputs to my external monitor. All connections are good--have been tested. Need help!

sounds like the card has gone bad to me. is it on a notebook? or a desktop?
tailgait wrote on 6/3/2004, 10:56 AM
It's on a desktop. I have tried in-puting video into the capture window and that works, so I don't think it's the card.

do you have an alternate card that you can try?
It's possible that the circuitry is bad on part of it only or for that matter a part on it is bad.

I'll give it a shot.

When you say you don't have any image on your internal monitor, do you mean no image whatsoever, or just no video preview window within Vegas? If it's the latter, and you have the other Vegas windows showing, could it be that you have video preview turned off (unchecked)?

If you have the capture utility open also that can cause your external preview not to work.

No. The video preview is there. It's on. But there is no preview picture and when I switch to external monitor, there is also no picture. It's the no preview picture that puzzles me. I can input video to the capture window, so I don't think it's the card. I don't remember hitting anything, but who knows, I've tried everything!

Capture window is off.

Make sure you don't have a bunch of hookups on your firewire connections. Just use the converter and then reboot. Also shut the converter off for 1 minute then turn it back on.

I just booted up VEgas 3.0 and it works! That will save me for now. If anyone has any other ideas, please post. Thanks.

I am sorry I misunderstood, that whole "internal" monitor. Thought that you meant that it was the whole screen.
anyway

best of luck

One thing I noticed is that my curser is a "+" when it is over the preview screen. Anyone know how I change that because it seems to be key to solving the problem

You must have split screen view enabled and have the entire frame selected. Turn off split screen view.
tailgait wrote on 6/3/2004, 11:44 AM
Where do I do that?
