You have seen it a thousand times, but as an exercise, I wanted to create the magnifying glass over type effect.
1) Created magnifying glass with matte for whole device.
2) Created matte for glass area only.
3) 1st video track type, black over white.
4) 2nd video track, whole device keyed over 1st track. No transparent glass yet.
5) 3rd video track, type b over w enlarged using track motion.
6) 4th video track matte for glass.
7) Made 3rd and 4th track parent child. This allows me to see the enlarged type in the glass area, and the other tracks with whole device and normal type.
8) Moved glass and device in matching moves across type. Looks great except, in tracks 3 and 4 which are parent/child, the type moves with the glass, so you see the same letters through the whole move. How do I keep the enlarged type to give the effect of the glass moving over the type and still see the other tracks.
Thanks for any advice or help.
edit: I think I found my error. I am using the Track motion, instead I should be using the CROP/Position for the motion. If you have other ideas though, I would appreciate it.
