Need help with greenscreen

I've recently learned how to green screen in the past few months, and got it down *pretty* good, but I always get this thin black border around the subject (person) being greenscreened.

I've read several tutorials about how to do it, even did a little demo tutorial for myself, but I just don't have it mastered yet.

I have a 99% wrinkle-free greenscreen and some decent, but not professional lighting, but can't get rid of this annoying black border.

I've heard of people getting a green glow border if they get too close to the screen, but I'm several feet away and it's not a green glow border.

Suggestions?

Is it on the far side of your key light?
(does it move if you reposition your lighting)

Have you tried chroma blur?

The black border is completely around the whole subject, and it stays about the same whereever I have the key light.

And yes, I use a chroma blur.

DV compression from either your camera or capture device could
be causing the dark edge. Try a different capture device.

Are you using a back light? You say no green spill but could still
be a shadow?

Could you be over lighting the subject? Do you have zebra pattern on your camera?
Can you dim your key light and/or fill lights?

Different capture device? You mean a different camcorder? Well, I only have one, but I have a friend with a newer one maybe I could test.

I *sort of* have a backlight, I mean it's not that great, but the dark border isn't a shadow.

Yes, I could be overlighting the subject, but I thought the more light was better. I'll try dimming the key / fill lights and see if that makes a difference.

Dim the greenscreen lighting instead.

I've got to recommend the Ultra2 keying program by www.SeriousMagic.com

For me it IS magic - moronically simple to use and amazingly great results -

and since the demo is free, what have you got to lose??
