Need help with NTSC to PAL to DVD

My client has brought in an 8mm video tape (NTSC) that he wants burned to a PAL DVD.

My DVD software is DVD Workshop.

I haven't had occasion to work with PAL, so I need help. Can I import the 8mm tape to Vegas 4.0 as an NTSC avi file, convert it to PAL , then export the PAL file to DVD Workshop and burn a DVD that will play on a PAL DVD player?

Thanks for leaving the excitement of Vegas 6 to answer this.

Jack

Does DVD Worship allow PAL projects? If so, you should be all set. Vegas will convert NTSC to PAL about as well as or better than most anything else out there.

What's DVD Worship is the new Pope on your mind?

Thanks, Kelly. I ran a test DVD and it works beautifully. The conversion from NTSC to PAL in Vegas is clean and quick and DVD Workshop handled the PAL mpg file without a problem. Looks great.

I just had a call requesting the conversion of a PAL VHS to NTSC. Don't I need a PAL deck or camera to do this?
TIA,

Yes... you need something which can play PAL VHS, and something that can capture it.
