I made a VERTICAL fluorescent light fixture with stand for my green screen setup,
have to make sure the fluorescent lamps don't fall out though, .. strap em down.
Gonna make me another one so I have a pair, one on each side of green screen.
I'm thinking about these. There are certainly sturdier choices, the stands appear kind of flimsy but for the price you get a pretty good basic 3 point kit. There are multiple bulbs (so you're not stuck if some go out) and variable output with the multiple switches and cool soft boxed light.
I'm sure you're right but since my usage is going to be very rare, perhaps a few times a year, it's probably an appropriate price/quality point for such limited usage.

I could provide a longish list of what will go wrong and what will bug you from the outset with this class of gear. Jay is right, this is not the class of kit that's going survive being used on paying jobs several times per week.
If the issues really do have an impact on you though you'll probably be making enough to replace it. If they're just an annoyance you can address them gradually and oftenly find a DIY solution. You can buy real flight cases or use cheap tool boxes, make little cases for the lamps from PVC pipe and buy Manfrotto stands.
One thing that kit doesn't include that I'd seriously suggest you'll need from the start are shot bags to reduce the risk of the stands falling over. Don't buy the hefty one, the cross braces on the light stands may well not take the weight. The ankle / wrist weights you can buy from fitness shops might be a good alternative.
i bought a similar set up a while back from cinecentre (?). as pointed out, this sort of knock-off equipment is shoddily / cheaply made and certainly NOT for any serious usage. that said, mine lasted long enough till i decided there was enough 'serious' work for such lighting and i could afford better.
