what version of vegas do you have? In Vegas 8 it can be done in protype VERY easily.

if you want to use normal text you'd also use another layer to make your text visible via keying. a little more complex but it gives you a LOT more control.

I am using Vegas 6 pro.

there's no "pro" version for anything besides 8 & 1.0. so it's the full version?

use the text event & make it a child track to something that move from one side to another, like a solid color that has a sharp gradient on it.

Does Vegas 6 have the placement tab in the titler? Or you can also use pan/crop with keyframes to get all the motion and zooms.

I've never used the parent/child setup, and have been wondering about it. How does it affect the child track?

Yes, it is the full version. What can be used to move from one side to another?

The wipe is simply a transition - create a fade in on the text event, then drop a Linear wipe onto it, with soft edge.
The slight zoom can be done with Pan Crop or Track Motion.

Both are possible at least since V3, maybe earlier ...
If you need more step by step, please ask.

Thanks Peter that is it. Thanks to everyone else also. I am just learning and love Vegas and this forum.
