...but if you are a student, you can get it cheap, and you might be able to get an OEM version (to be sold together with hardware only) cheap as well. Some shops (at least in Denmark) sell an OEM version together with a cheap mouse for aprox. $100 for a home, but of course - that is still money too.

In the U.S, companies like Newegg.com and zipzoomfly.com sell OEM versions of Win XP, which is what you want of course.
