Negative effect

HI, I am using Vegas Pro 23 trial. I was playing with it and seen a feature thats been around for sometime. Its a negative effect. You can get this with Invert or under Unsharpen mask select Negative. No why would someone want to use this effect?

The first one is an effect. It can be used in a video where someone would have "x-ray" vision, or whatever. In Unsharpen, to see where the effect is working.
