I spent the last hours reviewing a subset of some of my older files, 225 in all, all rendered with earlier versions of Vegas as VCD compliant MPEG-1. Out of that group 22 or roughly 10% fail to show the full file length on the timeline or play for full length. Most only play for the first couple minutes and that's all that shows on the timeline if I drag them there.
The currious thing is each of these files plays fine on another player such as VCutter and it also opens completely showing the full length using another editor such as VirtualDub. Since I've burned all of these files to CD's, I tried to play tem with Microsoft's Media player and they all hault around 2-3 minutes while the actual file size ranges from 10-40 minutes. Media Player like Vegas incorrectly shows the files to only be a 2-3 minutes in length. These files aren't corrupt since they play fine both off a hard drive and from the CD IF I don't use Media Player.
