Decided after much review to go with Neoscene for my AVCHD footage from my 2 Canon HG series 10 and 21 camcorders...
Should help when pulling them into Vegas for editing...Even though I have a i7 Core System, every little bit helps....
Got a good deal, $99.00 with a $10.00 off coupon on my first order so my total price was $89.00....Tried the free trial last night and worked quit well....

I purchased Cineform HDV several years back (when we had to pay $250), and over the past several years while people have gone back and forth about this format or that, I've rarely had to consider that issue (except when the rug was pulled out from under Cineform users for a short bit between V9.0 and 9a. The piece of mind bought by Cineform is worth a measely $100 or so. I doubt you'll regret it.

Where did you buy it from that cheap? Cineform sells it for $129.

You can get it at VideoGuys.com for $99 every day. They're a great place to order gear from.

IMHO, Neo Scene is a required piece of software for anyone working in HD who uses 3rd party applications like After Effects. It's a great intermediate codec for this kind of work. I have both the old Connect HD on my XP32 PC and Neo Scene on my Vista 64 PC.

As stated $99.00 everyday and when you register they will give you a $10 off code on your order for being a new customer...I used Neoscene to convert 3 seperate AVCHD camcorders footage files, and the converted footage was very smooth in vegas 9 using the multi cam setup, not a single delay when switching between camcorder files...where as before with straight AVCHD there was a noticable delay....Only glitch I had was that the converted footage audio file would not show up in the vegas timeline, So I reinstalled the AC3 codec and that fixed the issue....

There are a few things that are not technically "required" -- a number of posts fight back and forth about why you should or shouldn't have to buy things such as Cineform software -- but there are a few items that are really "non-optional" if you really want an expedited workflow:

1. Cineform software
2. ShuttlePro2 hardware
3. Ultimate S Pro AND Excalibur
4. __________??

I'd love to hear of any more items that people can't do without that may help my workflow.
