I noticed this announcement today:

Of course there is no such support for Sony Media products.
The subject of codec support in Sony Media products does not keep pace with the market. My hot buttons are DivX/Xvid and FLAC support across all Sony Media products. I have submitted several formal feature requests but of course get no response. The lack of support for popular codecs in Sony Media sofware is starting to remind me of Sony Hardware's infamous refusal to support MP3 (as opposed to ATRAC) in portable products for many years. I hope Sony Media is not being subjected to the same wrong headed pressures as Sony Hardware.
I would like Sony Media to modularize their programs in such a way that new codecs can be added at any time and not just once every couple of years when a product is updated.
I own almost every Sony Media product and have upgraded to new versions for years. This really frustrates me as a consumer.
Thanks.
