Nested 5.1 Audio Projects

Greetings! I'm creating a video that has several chapters. Each chapter is broken into a seperate project, and is using 5.1 surround sound audio.

I'm now trying to use a master project to put the chapters together into the complete movie, however, we I do so the audio from the nested projects is no longer 5.1 audio, but is downgraded to stereo.

I read an article (http://www.digitalvideoediting.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=34682-1, paragraph right above 'Project Paths' subheading) that said master projects could use seperate channels from nested projects, but what ever I do I cannot get it to work.

Any ideas or suggestions?

The new project has the same buses and is set up for surround, but the surround parameters aren't working? Just tested this here, it's carrying over OK for me. I've got the same number of buses set up on both veg files and master timeline, plus have both projects set to surround prior to dropping files on the master.

I made a direct copy of the child project, cleared out the contents and saved that a the master project. Once I added the child project to the master it still converted it back to stereo. Could you walk me through the process you followed to achomplish this? It would be much appreciated!
