When you altered the Text, did you play it and SEE the changes? At what point of the Preview flow are you NOT seeing the "changed" Text?

You need to do a bit of close forensic work here . . .

Grazie

Altered veg file.
Saved veg file.
Nested file is not updated.
Pretty clear?
Thank you detective Grazie.

"Altered veg file." What exactly DID you alter - I'm only trying to help here - yeah? And, quite frankly, no, I wouldn't be taking time out if I thought it was as plain as you say it is? Something is NOT playing ball with you. Look extremely closely at your alteration in the Text Event.

And NO, again, you haven't answered at which point are you NOT seeing the changes.

It's in the nested file that the change isn't occuring Grazie.
Changed one letter of text on lower third.
In the past if I needed to alter a veg file, I would do the edit and upon reopening the nested file, the change would be made there as well.
I could see the update happening.
For some reason that update of the nested file isn't happing this time 'round.

Some suggestions from http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=642368

"Menu Options > Preferences > General Tab > make sure “close media files when not…” is checked. Then you should get update of nested project". (but will also take longer to come on-line when going away from and back to the Vegas window

"Happens, sometimes, in 8.0c for me. Exiting Vegas and restarting fixes it, most times. Sometimes, when minor changes are made, vegas does update. Only workaround to get it to update is by deleting the sfo file."

Re-built the project, re-named it, re-rendering it re-burned it.
All is well.
Likely less complex in this case than trouble shooting.
Never cared much for puzzles.
Puts me at a disadvantage as a Vegas user?
Still it's a great NLE.

Thanks all,

Dan
