Nested Projects ...

I'm running VV8.0c and can't find any info on how to ....
Use a .veg within another .veg (nested project) where you open the nested .veg, tweak it and have the tweaked version come right up in the assembled project. There is a tool to update the audio to do this, but how do you get the changes made to video in a nested project to show in the master project automatically?
The help file states -
"You can edit a nested project by right-clicking the event in the timeline and choosing Edit Source Project from the shortcut menu. A new Vegas window will open to allow you to edit the project."
BUT what do you need to do to get those channges to show ?

The nested project is updated automatically when you bring the Windows focus back to the project it is nested in.
I'm not sure about an audio tool-I believe it updates automatically with the video.

Just got it working - didn't have "close media files when not the active application checked.

Thanks for your reply - it made me look for why it wasn't working for me.

Good catch-I didn't even think of that!

I would advise that you may find it more stable to save the file you are editing under a different name. When you go back to the project it is nested in, right click the project in the project media window and select replace to swap in the new file.

This may also save you time as every time you flick back to the main project windows will try to rerender the sfa0p file (or whatever it is called).
