SCS is calling it the Upgrade Deal of the Decade.
Special pricing and extra incentives are offered on upgrades to Pro 9, SF 10 and Acid Pro 7.

I received the offer via email a few hours ago.

At the same time as I got the email from SCS I also got an email from Stock20. I had taken up their offer to buy their whole library of music for around 5% of the original price, On top of that I get to buy every new tune at 85% discount. But wait I thought, what about the poor souls who've paid full fare, do they get the ongoing discount, No! So now they've had to backpedal and offer the same deal to all their customers. I think they've shot themselves in the foot.

Re: "Upgrade Deal of the Decade", I find it strange that - after I have chosen the upgrade from my Sound Studio to Sound Forge 10, and - having been presented with a list of additional items (all marked FREE), I've chosen Seminar Series Download for both Sound Forge and Vegas Pro 9 - in my actual shopping cart the Vegas Pro Seminar Series download is a paying option (Euro 64,95 ex. VAT).

Why is it offered FREE, yet charged on selection?

Edit: Please disregard; I read through the deal offer again, and it says "corresponding Seminar Series" (in my case, just that for Sound Forge)...

I payed 99 dollars to upgrade from 6 to 8 so its definately not a deal of the decade, maybe a deal of the year...

Sami, the 8 to 9 upgrade was $184.95 so, IMO, $149.95 is a good deal for anyone still sitting on the fence.

"Please disregard; I read through the deal offer again, and it says "corresponding Seminar Series" (in my case, just that for Sound Forge)..."

And yet, after having tried again, I WAS able to download BOTH Seminar Series with my upgrade from Sound Forge Audio Studio to Sound Forge Pro 10.0 !

While on it, some observations:

1. The iZotope Vocal Eraser that I got with Audio Studio now also works with Sound Forge Pro - and I mean it, unlike with Audio Studio, it DOES work very efficiently. I wonder: is it the same plugin taking now advantage of greater processing power in Sound Forge Pro as compared to the Audio Studio, or - is it another plugin, more powerful by itself, that came with my upgrade?

2. I got a serial number for iZotope Mastering Effects Bundle 2; however I need explanation on when and where I need to enter/register it? I mean, registering with iZotope is obvious, but it seems like all iZotope tools within SF (like e.g. iZotope MBIT + Dither) are working without asking for a serial number. So, what am I missing (and I'm certainly missing a lot, as I'm new to Sound Forge in general).

Help appreciated;

Piotr

EDIT: Actually, even activating the Mastering Effects Bundle 2 at iZotope website is not straightforward; it's a "Challenge/Response" authorization and they want me to start the product and click 'Authorize'... How do I "start the Product" ?!!! I can't see any separate application installed on my system, and all iZotope tools within Sound Forge Pro are functional - they never "challenge" me!

OK - once again, please disregard. I've found the "Mastering ..." plug-ins, and using one of them for the first time, I was indeed asked for the serial number to authorize :)

Bob, could you please elaborate on what "Stock20" is? I'm interested in getting some new music for my feature films, and of course a Season discount offers like this are very tempting..

Jeremy, both work and home have been so crazy lately that I completely forgot to drop the folks an email.
I plan to do it very soon and will let you know how it turns out.
Thanks for asking.

I'm an infrequent user of Vegas and recently installed my 8.1 on my new windows 7 ultimate. A few days after starting Vegas 8.1 a little window popped up but I was in a rush and did not get a chance to save the link, etc. thinking I could go to it later. I can't find any link through SCS nor can I find how to make Vegas 8.1 pop up the offer window again.

If anyone knows how to get there from the main web page please let me know. I've searched through all e-mail and have not received the current offer yet, only through one pop up on Vegas 8.1.

Thanks!

At the top of the forum window click on Purchase >> Upgrades, then select the "Upgrade to Vegas Pro 9 from Vegas" item (third box down). See if that screen gives you the discount. You probably need to be logged in.

Alternatively, at the top of the forum window click the "My Account >> My Software" link, then locate the "Upgrade" option for your current Vegas and click it. Mine shows "$234.95" on the My Software page, but clicking the "Buy Now" brings up a page with the $149.95 price.

By the way, the "Upgrade VMS to Vegas Pro" link I posted yesterday (in the "UPGRADE" thread) has been "fixed" to show the normal VMS to Pro upgrade price of $484.95. Apparently that was an unintentional mistake and they did not intend to offer the $150 upgrade to VMS users...

Interesting you should mention that it was unintentional. On my list of software, it used to say I could upgrade from VP8 to VP9 and from VMS9 to VP9. But since I ugraded from VMS, the entry for VP8 to VP9 has disappeared.

Not that I'm complaining. If I couldn't do it with VMS I would have done it from VP8 anyway.
