network render: failed to obtain serial code

Hi Folks,

anybody know how to resolve the issue
when one tries network rendering
and it fails with the message of
'Failed to obtain serial code.'

You can provide your serial number in the dialog that appears when you
select the "Enter Serial Number..." menu item in the Network Render
Service application.

Note: Sony support told me that network rendering cannot be done with the trial version. I do not think it says this in the manual, so if you have the trial version, this would occur.
