Hello,
I have been trying to get the network rendering working for about 8 hours now. On my editing machine I have a video raid set up as a single drive (4 drives made to look like 1) I edit out of several folders on this drive, so I have a certain organization scheme. The problem is is that I mapped a directory on this drive named appropriately "Network Renders" drive in the "file mappings" dialog and I continually get either "cannot open project" or "some media may not be shared". The entire raid drive is shared, so all the files on the drive including the "network renders" folder. (that folder I actually shared as well) If I went and "file mapped" every directory I work out of, on this one 'shared' drive, there would be at least 50 different mappings. Do I have to map every directory I work out of? I would think just be mapping the actual directory you want to render to would be sufficient. I've done network rendering using other products and never ran into these problems before. And the manual is not really specific on which directories you have to map to get it to work. I've tried every option including copying all media, project files etc. to 1 directory (which is NOT how I want to work...) and I still get a failed render due to "some media may not be shared" Do I have to file map every directory on both the editing machine and the render machines as well? I wish Sony went into more detail on this in the manuals. which is Sony Support is reading this, it'd be nice if in the log it actually shows which files are failing to share... that would help enormously!
Thanks for any help!!
