Anyone got any real world rough figures. I'm just curious as I would have thought the speedup to be not that dramatic given the amount of data needed to be moved accross the network and the amount of overhead that creates for the CPU. I did notice that the IEEE have ratified a standard for 10GBit ethernet although its limited to 15M runs and cards will initailly cost around $10K.
Maybe a Firewire II network would speed things up at reasonable cost.
