After two years, my first problem. But I don't think it's Vegas.
Vegas 6d
M-Audio Delta 1010lt audio card
DSR-11 deck
XP Pro SP2
Audio on a recent shoot was recorded two channel. It is two channel when played on the DSR-11 deck and viewed through the video monitor and speakers independent of editing app.
Audio is clearly two channel when played back through two cameras.
But when captured via the DSR-11 (firewire) or a camera (firewire), the audio is mixed into one channel, and barely audible. All other video already captured on previous days and still in the system plays great, so not sure it's the sound card. This is also happening on four different DVCAM tapes. All play the right way independent of capture. It also does it on previously captured tapes that once were captured properly but now are not ... so it's not the tapes from that shoot.
I have never had two-channel audio captured as a single mixed channel before, and never had it barely audible ...
Could it be the firewire card? Doesn't seem to be the deck or the camera, as both will independently play it back as two channel and clear. It's only when capturing, and happens in Vegas and Premiere Pro 2.0
Any thoughts are appreciated ...
