New Blue Titler fails on Win8

kingsfan wrote on 10/9/2012, 9:01 PM
Hi,
Using Vegas 11, build 683 with NBT Build 815 on a Win7 x64 machine works just fine. Using the same software on identical hardware but on Win8 x64 machine fails to load NBT when V11 starts, stating the the GPU capabilities are low.

Video drivers are the same (latest) Radeon drivers on both systems.

I have a repro of this sympton on another machine where NBT Build 815 and V11 Build 683 were working fine on Win7x64. Once I upgraded inplace to Win8 x64, I get the same error message on V11's startup.

I am using the RTM (MSDN) version of Win8 with all the updates. Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks.

Neither Vegas nor NBT have been certified for use with Windows 8 so don't expect too much help as you're treading in uncharted waters :(

I have been using the Win8 consumer preview x64 with Vegas 11 and have no problem with NBT. Its a fresh install in a brand new machine and I'm using an Nvidia 560 ti display card though.

What Catalyst version do you have installed?
kingsfan wrote on 10/13/2012, 7:03 PM
Catalyst software is version 12.6, dated July 24, 2012, the latest available from AMD for the 4800 series card.

May be you can try the win 8 driver from AMD available here

Per the release notes for this version of the Catalyst driver, the 4800 series is not supported. Even tthe Win8 inbox driver for the 4800 is giving the same error.

If you want to start a help ticket, I can give you some more things to try. If the driver isn't properly supporting the card, though, that would certainly be an issue.
